In 2000 I arrived home from work and found several inches of water in my basement. Earlier that same day the hydro was out for a few hours and my sump pump did not activate. Due to the power outage and my pump not activating I ended up with damage to my mechanical equipment and loss of my personal belongings. Not to mention the mess of cleaning and removing all the wet damaged rugs and damaged belongings.
To try and prevent this from happening again I researched the market and purchased a 12v backup pump and installed it. After installing this 12v backup pump I soon realized that I got what I paid for. After installing this system I was not confident that this was the solution I would be happy with.
I knew I had reliable pumps in my sump pit and all I needed was something that automatically powered my pump during a power outage. I couldn't find anything that would provide this simple solution so I came up with a design of my own. I have had this system in my house since 2000 and have had many happy customers since I have brought my product to production.

Power Outage Problem
"After our basement flooded because of a power outage I decided I would do the best I could to prevent it from ever happening again. I did a lot of research, from huge box-stores to small businesses and countless online consumer reports. Everything I found was either too expensive, too cheap, or too unreliable.
As a last-resort I contacted the owner of an electrical supply company we use at the manufacturing plant I work for. I asked about inverters, marine batteries, even generators, and all he said over and over was that he swore by Gartech’s Power Plus.
